British comedian Michael McIntyre will be performing two shows live in South Africa.

The shows will take place at The Grand Arena at Grandwest in Cape Town on April 18 and 19 and The Coca–Cola Dome in Johannesburg on the April 20, 2013.

His tour last year in 2012 got him into the Guiness Book of records as the biggest selling comedian with ticket sales of over 700 000 in the UK alone. He sold out eight shows in September 2012 at London’s O2 Arena which has a capacity of 20 000 per night.

His BAFTA nominated BBC 1 series, Michael Mcintyre's Comedy Roadshow is one of the most popular TV shows in South Africa.

McIntyre’s big break came at the Royal Variety Performance in 2006. His debut DVD, Live and Laughing, was the fastest selling of all time, only to be eclipsed by his second, Hello Wembley, that sold over 1.4 million copies and was the 2009 Christmas number one.

He has won British Comedy Awards for Best Live Stand-up in 2009 and Best Male TV Comic in 2010.

In 2011 McIntyre was a judge on the hit ITV1 show Britain's Got Talent.

He also hosted Michael Mcintyre's Christmas Comedy Roadshow on BBC1 Christmas Day which was watched by over eight million viewers.

Supporting McIntyre on this tour is British comedian Paul Tonkinson, who has been on the UK comedy circuit for around 15 years.

His recent TV appearances in the UK include Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow and Live at The Comedy Store on Comedy Central.
