Politicians, celebrities and sports stars came out to play in what was undoubtedly one of this year's most glamorous and extravagant social events.
Thuli Madonsela was honoured as the South African of the Year, beating out stiff competition from Archbisop Desmond Tutu, DJ Sbu, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, Johnny Clegg and Leslie Sedibe.
Afro pop group, Mafikizolo took home the Trendsetting Celebrity Award while Hashim Amla was victorious in the Sportsperson o the Year category. The youngest doctor in SA at 21, Sandile Khubeka was awarded the Young South African of the Year Award.
