TV and radio sports presenter Robert Marawa allegedly earns R300,000 per month but is only forking out R2,500 for his son with actress Zoe Mthiyane, according to a report.

Marawa and Mthiyane are embroiled in a maintenance saga after the radio personality apparently failed to adequately provide for his son.

The former lovers met in court last week, where Mthiyane has tabled her maintenance demands for their son - asking the court to order Marawa to cough up close to R30,000 for medical fees, lodging, gardening, toiletries and more for the child.

According to Sunday Sun, a court official said Marawa earns R300,000 per month but is only paying about R2,000 towards his son's maintenance.

“He wanted to negotiate the amount, but Zoe is sticking to the figures,” said one official who is privy to the case.

The Sunday Independent reports that Marawa wants joint parental rights and for the child's maintenance fees to be split between Mthiyane and himself.

“I have been maintaining my child before, during and after he has been born. I am not seeking media attention and sensationalising an issue pertaining to a minor child. I’ve always sought access to my son. That’s what is important to me. People seeking to defame me will be dealt with. My lawyers are dealing with this. Access to my son remains paramount," Marawa stated in court papers.
