Somizi and Thando Thabethe set to host the SAMAs 2016

All roads lead to Durban this weekend for the prestigious music awards ceremony, which aims to honour the achievements of Mzansi's musicians.

Somizi and Thando will lead the pack of star-studded personalities who have been billed to present the glitzy ceremony.

Taking to social media on Thursday morning Thando expressed excitement over the announcement.

"Good morning it's official, so happy to FINALLY announce that I will be your host for the 22nd annual South African Music Awards alongside the crazy @somizi," she said on Instagram.

  • Emtee and Kwesta set to team up for SAMA performanceThe 22nd annual South African Music Awards have just confirmed a performance cargo that boasts the talents of Kid X, Da L.E.S, Wouter Kellerman , The Muffinz, Desmond & the Tutus, as well as Emtee and Kwesta for this year's show. 

They will be joined by actress Khanyi Mbau and radio personality Phat Joe in the Amstel Green Room, who will be doing interviews with winners, just minutes after they claim their awards.

And to make sure that fans don't miss out on all the red carpet action, which the SAMAs has also become renowned for - Bonang Matheba, Pearl Modiadie and the hunky Lunga Shabalala will have the red carpet festivities covered for the night.

The 22nd annual SAMAs stage will be set alight with performances by the likes of Kwesta, Emtee, DJ Bongz and The Muffinz.

It all happens this Saturday (June 4) at the Durban ICC and will also be broadcast live on SABC 1.
