It's been six years since Zoleka Mandela's 13-year-old daughter Zenani was tragically killed in a car accident. However the pain will evidently remain with her loved ones forever.

In remembrance of her daughter on the day she passed away, Zoleka took to social media to pay tribute tribute to her.

"On the anniversary of my daughter's passing. Heart's in pieces, biggest one's gone with her. My Best Friend Zenani," Zoleka said.

Zenani was killed in a car crash while she was returning home with family from the opening concert of the 2010 Soccer World Cup.

In 2013 Zoleka released a tell-all book called When Hope Whispers, where she detailed how shortly after Zenani's death she was hospitalised after a suicide attempt.

The book also details Zoleka's troubled past of drug addiction and her battle against breast cancer.

Zoleka, who was diagnosed with breast cancer about five years ago, was faced with a renewed cancer scare three weeks ago but is determined to beat the disease.
