It's sad when ego gets in the way and fans suffer, says AKA
Baddest rapper AKA has hit back at Swaziland Music Festival organisers after news emerged that he had been dropped from the line-up for this weekend's event.
The Hipnotik music festival is a highly-anticipated annual event on the Swaziland entertainment calendar.
Swazi Jive Founder and Director Sakhile Nkambule revealed on Wednesday that AKA had been dropped from the line-up, after the rapper "disrespected" the brand in a Twitter rant.
As news of AKA being dropped from the line-up spreads, the rapper has taken to social media to comment on the debacle.
"Very disappointed that I will no longer be performing for my fans in Swaziland this coming weekend. It's sad when ego gets in the way and the fans suffer. What makes it more bizarre is that we have already been paid," AKA tweeted.
I'm struggling to see how being paid to stay at home and rest after a hectic 2 weeks of traveling is an "L" but oh well ....

Like I said, the biggest losers here are my fans in Swaziland who were looking forward to seeing on stage.

The debacle all started last week when AKA took to Twitter threatening not to show up at the event, as his logo was not on the flyer.
They better fetch my logo and change that flyer before I fuck around and not show up on the day. https://t.co/jAREXWwhE6

The events organisers didn't take the comments lying down explaining that they would not allow the brand to be disrespected by any artist, no matter how big they are.
