The Broadcast Research Council of South Africa (BRC) has released its ratings for June 2016 through their monthly Television Audience Measurement Survey (TAMS), showing which TV shows garnered the most South African viewers during the month.

According to the viewer audience statistics released on Thursday, Uzalo amassed over 8 million viewers at its highest point in June, with Generations: The Legacy following hot on its heels.

  • Generations wins back the ratings' crown It seems that Generations may have won back its crown as the people's champ, dethroning Uzalo as the most watched TV show in the country.  

5. Muvhango

Muvhango is the most watched show on SABC 2, with 5 822 236 million viewers.

4. Vodacom Yebo Millionaires

The four-minute game show, which is televised on SABC 1every Tuesday, managed to reach an audience of 5 836 157 viewers.

3. Skeem Saam

With an audience rating of 22.1, SABC 1's Skeem Saam now boasts 7 465 141 viewers.

2. Generations: The Legacy

Still tussling at the top after winning back its crown as the people's champ in May, Generations: The Legacy is back at number 2 with 8 018 765 viewers.

1. Uzalo

Uzalo has regained its title of the most watched TV show in South Africa, after garnering 8 276 462 viewers in June.
