Contrary to her character on SABC 1's hit telenovela Uzalo, actress Nelisa Mchunu has come out strongly against dishonest pastors, warning young girls to stay away from them.

Nelisa plays the character of Fikile, an outspoken girl, who is head over heels in love with Pastor Nkosi -  whose storyline involves being a sex pest and a church thief.

However, unlike her character, the actress believes it's best for women to avoid 'fake pastors.'

  •

Speaking to Daily Sun, she explained: "As a young lady, it is important to know your worth, stay committed to your faith.

"You must not allow a man, regardless of his position, to make you do something that doesn’t agree with your morals."

This comes in the wake of reports that real-life pastors were displeased with the character of Pastor Nkosi, alleging that he makes them look bad.

In response, Uzalo revealed it depicts "what is really happening out there.'

"It is not to say all pastors are bad, but these things happen," the show's publicist, Koketso Phala explained to TMG Entertainment.
