Generations: The Legacy actress Manaka Ranaka has been through a lot of challenges in the last year, including a break-up with her longterm boyfriend Thabo.

At the beginning of the year Manaka revealed that they had decided to split after hitting a rough patch in their relationship.

But the good news is that they're back together and couldn't be happier.

During an interview with Anele Mdoda on Real Talk, Manaka reflected on the tragedies she's overcome in life.

  •

Speaking about her romance Manaka explained that no relationship is perfect.

"We've been through our rough patches and we've even been through a break-up but getting back together was sweeter."

Manaka explained that she doesn't like giving up, and therefore decided to fight for her relationship. "You know my mom and dad are going on for nearly 40 years. I don't have marriage experience but seeing their ups and downs I feel like I do, and I want to be like them one day," she said.

  •

The actress also gushed about how her man loves that when she's with him, she's natural and real.

Overcoming tragedy

In December last year Manaka accidentally killed an 18-year-old girl named Millicent Mbonani after she knocked her over.

Reflecting on the tragedy Manaka says that she still haunted by the incident.

  •

"I live every day with the memory of Millicent in my heart," she said.

Manaka explained that she still gets nightmares and sometimes still feels the impact of the accident.
