Babes Wodumo has explained that, because her dad is a pastor, it does not mean that is the same journey that she has to follow, saying her parents were called for that by God, and not her.

During an interview with The Citizen, the Wololo hitmaker asserted that her career does not mean she's less of a Christian. She revealed that, while she may be a pastor's kid, people should not expect her to act like her dad, because she's a musician as well as a dancer, and not a pastor.

"I’m a pastor’s child, but I’m not a pastor. If your dad is a police officer, you don’t go around arresting people, so it’s the same for me; I can’t go around carrying a bible. My mom and dad were
called by God for that, but not me," she told the local publication.

"I still believe in God. I understand God. God knows I love him, and I love to dance," she added.

Earlier this month, Babes found herself making headlines for all the wrong reasons, after it was reported that members of her father's church had allegedly complained about Babes not going to church, yet the bishop has been encouraging young people to attend church regularly.

However, speaking to TMG Entertainment both Babes and her dad slammed the reports.

"I don't like it when media scrutinise and write bad things about my daughter. I told my daughter not to do any interviews and people should call me first because I'm the bishop," Babes' dad said, before Babes pointed out that people were jealous of her success.

"People are jealous of my success. Last month I went to church and I always pay my 10 percent," she said.
