Her mom might make headlines for her skin lightening and surgical procedures, but Mshoza's daughter says that she knows the truth behind the rumours.

When Mshoza sat down with TshisaLIVE recently, she revealed that her children are very aware of the stories that are written about her in the media.

"My daughter asks a lot of questions. She is smart and she is aware. But she took my brain, she knows how to block things out," Mshoza said.

But how much do her kids really know?

Mshoza and her children recently sat down with Drum, when the star's daughter, Pride, gave her thoughts on the media storm around her mother.

"Yes, I know my mom is lighter than she was before. Some people said she got plastic surgery, but I know it's not true because she told me the truth about what has made her skin lighter," Pride said.

Pride is, of course, referring to the mystery illness that Mshoza told the publication's video team she was suffering with.

"I recently found out that it's because I'm diabetic that those things are happening to me. I just want them to know that it's not because I hated being black. I was a beautiful dark skinned woman and that's all they have to know. I take 18 pills on a daily basis. Not even for skin lightning. Medication for this particular problem that I have," she said in a recent video interview.

She told the publication that she goes for skin lightening when the condition starts to affect her.
