Looks don't mean all that much to me, says Maps Maponyane on new Miss SA judging gig
The judging panel for this weekend's Miss South Africa pageant has been announced with Maps Maponyane, Unathi Msengana, Cameron van der Burgh and Bridget Masinga among those taking up the hot seat.
The judges will put the 12 Miss South Africa finalists through their paces before deciding on the winner of this year's crown.

The organisers told TshisaLIVE that judges were chosen based on their experience in the industry and each brought a unique perspective to the panel.
Unathi who has been on the panel before said that she was looking for a "great ambassador" for the nation.
"As people we are naturally beautiful inside and out. I will be looking for someone who I think South Africa can relate to, someone who South Africa can feel is there to be a great ambassador for the country,” she said.
Unathi advised the finalists who will be vying for the crown to trust themselves.
Hunky TV personality Maps told TshisaLIVE that he was looking for someone who oozed self-confidence and would represent the country well.
"It really doesn't come down to who is sexiest. Looks do not mean all that much to me. I have seen a lot of beauty in my years in the industry and eventually it hits a brick wall. She needs to have depth. She must be motivated, ambitious and not just talk the talk, but walk the walk," Maps said.
Maps praised his fellow judges on the panel and said that he had no doubt that together they would be able to choose the best woman to represent South Africa.

The full judging panel is made up of Maps Maponyane, Unathi Msengana, Cameron van der Burgh, Bridget Masinga, Gisele Wertheim Aymes, Ezra Davids and former Miss South Africa Claudia Henkel.
The new Miss South Africa will be crowned at Sun City on Sunday, March 26 and will be broadcast live on Mzansi Magic (Channel 161) and M-Net (Channel 101) at 5pm.
