Pastor Mboro has hailed gospel singer Winnie Khumalo's perseverance and will to grow spiritually.

Mboro told TshisaLIVE that although Winnie already knew God when she joined his program, she has shown "great willingness" to learn more and has made a lot of progress.

"Winnie has been attending church and prayer, despite her hectic duties as a singer and entertainer. She is still learning more about God, as we are also, but she is truly determined to change her life for the better in the Lord's eyes," he said.

Winnie joined Mboro after reports surfaced that she had gotten ill and was under "spiritual" attacks.

Winnie told True Love that although she was hesitant to honour the pastor's invite she has since learned that he is different to the person the media "portrays".

"He prayed for me. He's a very different person to the one portrayed in the papers. I love giving people a chance and experiencing them for myself," she said.

The pastor told TshisaLIVE that Winnie was not motivated by fame and that he has learned that she is "passionate about helping broken people".
