Presenter Katleho Sinivasin told TshisaLIVE that he joined the campaign because he realised that with the various issues SA is facing help is necessary from all fronts.
"I support this movement and a couple more because it is important for all of us to take action in dealing with issues that affect our societies. Part of the problem in why men have not taken this life changing decision is because nobody emphasises that it is actually risky not to do it," he said.
Katleho added that he was circumcised as a child and is grateful that his mother made that decision. He also said that he hopes the message goes to not only men but mothers and people responsible for little boys.
"There's an advantage to doing the procedure as a child because you heal faster but it is never too late to go for it. We have one of the highest HIV infected number people in the world so anything that helps curb the issue needs to be implemented. As people with some influence, if people will have us then we'll spread the message," he said.
In partnership with Community Media Trust (CMT) – a not-for-profit company that specialises in communication in the fields of health, human rights and gender based violence, these celebrities are hoping to motivate other men to follow suit.
Other celebrities supporting the campaign are Khaya Mthethwa, Brighton Ngoma, Katleho Sinivasin, Sekoati Tsubane, Matli Mohapeloa, Luthuli Dlamini , Wandile Molebatsi , Chad Saaiman, Obed Baloyi, Lemogang Tsipa and Christian Bennet.
