Rapper Okmalumkoolkat has called on some of his industry friends to help him raise awareness about women abuse and women abductions through a free concert in KZN.

The Gqi hitmaker took to social media to announce that people of Durban would be treated to a free concert with a good course.

Okmalumkoolkat wrote that the concert would serve to "spread awareness about women abuse and abduction in South Africa".

He added that the concert is for those who are anti-women abuse, anti-abduction and anti- human trafficking and that all proceeds would go to charity.

Head of Stamps Communication, Bulie Nazo, who forms part of Okmalumkoolkat's management told TshisaLIVE on behalf of the rapper that he intends to highlight the tragic social issue that has left many South African women living in constant fear.

She added that all the featured artists have volunteered their services for the same course.

"Okmalumkoolkat gathered some of his pals to bring this concert to life because he felt more awareness is needed especially in KZN. A lot of these recent abductions have also taken place there [KZN] but while places like Joburg have had marches and other initiatives trying to combat it, not much has happened that side," said Bulie.

Some of the headline acts that are mentioned on the poster include Babes Wodumo, Mampintsha and DJ Cndo.

The event will take place on Saturday June 17 at The Rivertown Shed, Durban from 12 pm until 2 am.
