Sports presenter Robert Marawa is sticking to his guns and will not go on air until the "unfair" suspension of his radio show producer Beverly Maphangwa is "sorted out" by the SABC.

Robert told TshisaLIVE that he would stand firm on his decision to stay off air until the public broadcaster addresses what he deems a "grossly unfair" suspension of Beverly.

"We work as a team and I have made a decision that I won't just let my producer take the blame for a team decision. It would not be right for me to continue as if there is no unfair process currently taking place," he said.

He added that he values all members of his team and the reason the show wins awards is because of their combined efforts. He told TshisaLIVE that "it is not right for the SABC to want to intervene with the good quality radio that the public deserves".

Robert vented about the matter on Twitter on Thursday night, simultaneously announcing that he would be off air until the SABC lifts his producer's suspension.

It's believed a meeting between himself and management is due to take place later this week.
