Musician Riky Rick posted the most powerful message about Father's Day on his Instagram account on Sunday.
He explained how one of the hardest things he's ever had to deal with his not having a father there for him for almost half of his life. He detailed how when his father died and didn't know how to deal with the pain.
"My father passed on when I was a teenager and that grieve is something I still hadn't dealt with as an adult. People who were around me while I was trying numb the pain will remember how destructive my life was. No matter how far I tried to run, tragedy would follow me. I couldn't escape my demons. I had lost hope."
But love and light found its way to him and the musician said becoming a father gave him a reason to keep on fighting.
"Becoming a father changed my life. Gave me a reason to keep fighting. I know I cannot correct the past but having my child by my side on this journey lets me know that there is always room for better days when you believe in God.
