TV and radio sports presenter Robert Marawa has found support within the halls of the SABC from none other than the host of the popular reality show Nyan'Nyan.

The show's host Luyanda Potwana added his voice to the debate on Robert's future, telling his followers that Robert was the only reason he listened to sports shows.

Luyanda said that he feared being fired by his bosses at the SABC for his comments but wanted to show his support for Robert.

Robert, who is currently locked in a dispute with SABC bosses, assured Luyanda that he would not be fired and thanked him for his support.

Robert is set to meet with the SABC on Wednesday after a Sunday World report claimed that the presenter was in trouble for his behaviour.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Robert said that he simply went to work, did his job and went home.

"I wouldn't know or comment on things that have not been said to my face. I also don't know what "behaviour" they are referring to because I go to the SABC, do my job then go home. I also don't have time for hearsay," he said.

The sports presenter took to Twitter last week to vent his frustrations over the public broadcaster's decision to suspend his producer Beverly Maphangwa. He said that he would "remove" himself from the show until the matter was resolved.
