Florence Masebe has offered a life-changing opportunity to aspiring actors but adds that young people take too many things too lightly.

Florence Masebe was left disappointed by the attitude of young people towards their craft after she offered ten young actors an opportunity to learn directly from her.

"I was actually disappointed at how lightly young people took the opportunity. From simple things like not following the instructions or not being ready to seize an opportunity to grow your craft to asking for an extension of the deadline as if you will receive such 'grace' in the industry. Young people need to stop sabotaging themselves," she said.

However, Florence said she knew some people [that really deserved the opportunity] may have not received the message to audition but those that did so showed promise.

The actress told TshisaLIVE she decided to offer her skills after a lengthy conversation with a fellow actress-turned-writer Portia Gumede on the difficulties of breaking into the industry.

"I coach actors professionally and I know first hand how the industry is and how hard it is to break into it. So when Portia challenged me, I decided 'why not?' I know that there are some deserving young people out there and if I can help them, then that is great," she said.

Florence said she would hold the classes between June and July depending on her schedule.
