Award-winning actress Fulu Mugovhani has shared her excitement at joining the stellar cast of Ring Of Lies season two, as a young Venda girl passionate about the sport of boxing.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, the actress explained that she is excited to tell a boxer's story through the lenses of a young rural girl. She said she hoped her character would inspire many young black kids.

"I'm excited to be a part of Ring of Lies 2 and especially proud to be playing such a vibrant young character, Rendani. This young girl was born and raised in rural Limpopo and brings an unconventional twist to the world that the shows fans are already familiar with. It's a boxer's story, but a story told through a different set of eyes - a Venda girl's eyes," she said.

Fulu explained that preparing for the character has been tiring and challenging but her passion for acting combined with an "amazing" team make it easy to push on.

"I'm feeling very challenged but I have amazing colleagues that make it all seem fine. However, working with South African actors and directors that I admire and respect motivates me to get up," she said.

Fulu told TshisaLIVE that her character's "authenticity" will make it easy for young people to relate to her and she hopes the character will "add on to a list of exemplary role models on television that young black kids will admire and aspire to be".

The actress became a household name as Princess Anzani on popular e.tv soapie Scandal! and has played in local blockbusters such as Ayanda and The Mechanic.
