Everyone knows that Eyadini Lounge is Zodwa Wabantu turf, as it's the venue that launched her career, but Skolopad is plotting to move into the area in her bid to become a superstar.

Zodwa used to shake her thing at the popular Durban hotspot that was the starting ground for her career. It seemed for a time that Zodwa was the queen of Eyadini and had a season pass to the venue.

But, like the weather, things may slowly be changing with Skolopad shaking her bits at Eyadini this past weekend.

We asked Skolopad what went down:

So we saw you were shaking your thing at Zodwa's homeground over the weekend? Bewenzani?

"Yes, I was there over the weekend and I had a blast. I was there for auditions then decided I couldn't leave without making it an opportunity to network."

Networking on stage with tiny black shorts and a Eyadini shirt on, Skolopad? We think you were gunning for the spotlight.

"So it wasn't a gig but I have their contacts now and there might be something around Durban July time."

Side note: Zodwa remember Zodwa was performing at the venue before she slayed people with this outfit at the Durban July.

Did you meet up with Zodwa there, share a stage nyana?

No!

Okay. But I remember you told us a few months ago that it was a dream of yours to perform at Eyadini.

"I would love to perform there, it's been a thing that I wanted to do since I became Skolopad."

Eyadini Lounge founder Jabulani Zama told TshisaLIVE the star was just in town for the weekend and they had not signed a contract or made any agreement with her.

"Skolopad was here over the weekend but we have not agreed to anything with her. Zodwa doesn't perform here anymore but it is not a competition. They are all customers."

Speaking to TshisaLIVE late last year, Skolopad spoke of the lack of support she gets back home, both from her family and from her province,  Free State. She said she would consider moving only if she was given the right opportunity and things fell into place for her.

Could this be the start of Skolopad takes Durban? Zodwa, your move.
