As one of the world's top DJs, Avicii's career took him to places across the globe and it turns out he had a special place in his heart for Cape Town.

Despite his health issues after his retirement from live performances in 2016, Avicii spent his time enjoying life with friends and family.

The Wake Me Up hitmaker spent his last festive season in the Mother City and shared heartwarming pictures and videos of himself with friends on Table Mountain.

Cape Town evidently made an impact on him as he encouraged his fans to visit the city.

"I recommend everyone to put Table Mountain on their bucket list and be amongst clouds #tablemountain," he captioned one of his snaps.
