Musician Zahara is no stranger to being on the front-page of newspapers for all the wrong reasons. "Drinking problems." "Money problems." "Love problems."

But while all of the rumours continue, the musician has notoriously repeated that these are vicious lies that are being spread about her. That she is hardly ever called for comment and she doesn't know why there is talk or who is behind it.

Sources will claim statements are true. Zahara will deny it. But lately, she has stopped defending herself. Instead, she ignores the talk and focusses on her. On being better.

She was recently chosen to perform at a Nelson Mandela centenary celebration concert in London and told TshisaLIVE that she wanted to do Madiba and Winnie Madikizela-Mandela proud by talking about what they meant to her.

"I will honour them both and won’t be scared of talking about her. I know there are people who disrespected and ignored her while she was alive. The dirt and things they were saying about her was not nice and now they are trying to make money off of the mourning. I am not one of them. I had a special relationship with both her and Tata and I will share that with the world."

On a recent Instagram post she pointed out that no matter what she does, people will continue to talk.

‪"People can dislike you without a cause. These are tests you have to pass. Stay on the high road. They don't control your destiny."

Besides producing music and creating more hits, Zahara has reignited her love of the gym, determined to transform her body.

A few years back she went through a major body transformation by eating healthier and working out.

And now she's back, working on her body.
