Six years ago, TV personality Mpho Maboi faced every mom's worst fear when she was rushed into the emergency room to deliver her baby, who went into distress.
"Six years ago, I went into my gynae’s office for a routine checkup, only to be told that I need to go into hospital immediately because I was in actual labour. The next couple of hours were filled with sheer fear and uncertainty as you quickly went into distress and ended up having to be delivered via emergency caesar," Mpho reflected.
She added that even though it was a scary experience all her fears disappeared when she held her son, Thato for the first time.
"All my fears about motherhood disappeared the moment I laid my eyes on your beautiful 10 fingers and toes. To me, you were perfect. My little miracle. The child I was biologically never meant to have But Because God, 6 years later, I celebrate you choosing me to be your mother."
Mpho said her son has taught her so much about herself by simply being unapologetic and strong willed.
