Black Panther's Chadwick Boseman's speech left many people on social media and in their feels at the Howard University as he congratulated the students for defying the odds, and told them to always choose the road less travelled.

Part of the effects that were expected to arise from the inspiration that a fictional Wakanda has provided for most black people, was an ongoing desire to excel.

There is no doubt that the effect is still actively spreading and when Chadwick received his honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Howard University, it just sealed it.

The actor, together with two others, received the honour for embodying  "the spirit and aspiration that guides Howard’s mission of excellence in truth and service".

However, it was Chadwick's speech that tugged at the heartstrings of the students who listened intently as he spoke.

"Rather find purpose than a job or a career. Purpose crosses disciplines; it is an essential element of you. It is the reason you are on this planet at this particular time in history. Your very existence is wrapped up in the things you are here to fulfill.

"When I dare to challenge the system that would relegate us to victims and stereotypes, with no clear historical background, no hopes or talent... when I questioned that method of portrayal, a different path opened up for me. The path to my destiny. When God has something for you, it doesn't matter who stands against it."

There were very few dry eyes by the time Chadwick was done.

Watch the speech below:

At this point, we don't even care that Wakanda is fictional.

What Black Panther has started will not be stopped, so shout out to Chadwick for using his influence for good!
