DJ TIra almost started a stampede on the Twitter streets when he jokingly suggested football superstar Lionel Messi only came to Mzansi to meet our "national key point," Zodwa Wabantu.

While the star's arrival for a match between Barcelona and Sundowns on Wednesday, had us all spazzing out and brought the country to a virtual standstill, a photoshopped tweet from a fake Messi's account addressed Zodwa and said he was "automatically" on his way to come see her.

The joke was carried on like a plague by Zodwa's boss, DJ Tira, who jokingly confirmed that Messi was putting his boots on and getting ready to take his shot with the Vosho Queen.

Zodwa has been having such a lekker time in Australia that she said she may never come back.

Of course, all of that changed when she heard that Messi was waiting.

But there are two problems.

1. Messi has a wife and kids

2. Zodwa isn't a homewrecker

That didn't stop the internet going wild with laughter and passing the joke along like an old cigarette.

They said Messi refused to go home until Zodwa arrived.

Others joked that Zodwa was the reason Messi was smiling when he arrived.
