Musician and actor Kabomo sat in a studio with HHP and listened as his close friend poured out his soul to him, which left him heartbroken and in tears. Little did Kabomo know that not long after his world would be rocked by the news of HHP's death.

HHP died at his Johannesburg home on Wednesday. He had struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts  for several years, revealing in 2016 that he had attempted suicide three times the year before.

Kabomo took to social media to detail some of his last moments with the star.

He spoke of the projects they had worked on in the past and how HHP was always willing to put his life on hold to record music with him. He spoke of a time recently when the pair were working on HHP's last album and his friend revealed his deepest thoughts and fears.

"You asked me to come record a verse for what would be your last album. What should have been a 30 minute session, ended up being a whole day chilling session. I heard your heart for the first time, I actually heard and felt what's been haunting your dreams for all these years. I cried. You laughed at me for crying."

The pair met  just two days before HHP's death.

"Two days before you passed to heaven, I called you to make a song for a compilation I had been producing. You came and smashed that record so beautifully. That's the last time you made music. God chose me to be the last person you make music with. How do I live with that?"

Kabomo said that nothing in that moment had prepared him for HHP's death.

"We laughed like we were kids. You seemed happy. We reminisced. We dreamt out loud. Two little kids drunk on music and planning a future we will never have. I love you brother. Always."
