HHP's wife and well-known publicist Lerato Sengadi has reportedly turned to the law in a bid to halt the late hip-hop star's funeral as his family have allegedly excluded her from all arrangements.

According to eNCA, Lerato has filed an urgent court application for an interdict to stop the Tsambo family from proceeding with funeral arrangements.

"As Jabba's lawful customary wife, it is my right to make the necessary funeral arrangements for his burial and to play an integral part in all of the actions and proceedings in relation thereto.

"I have been deprived of this right. I have simply and without cause been prevented by the respondent from fulfilling my role as customary wife," the papers reportedly state.

The publication also reports that HHP's depression was allegedly exacerbated by his addiction to cocaine and CAT.

HHP's funeral was set to take place in his hometown of Mahikeng on Saturday. The hip-hop star died in a suspected suicide on October 24. The Bosso hitmaker had previously opened up about battling depression.

The matter is set to be heard at the South Gauteng High Court on Friday at 10am.

Attempts by TshisaLIVE to get additional comment from the Tsambo family spokesperson, as well as Lerato, have been unsuccessful.

On Tuesday, the Sowetan reported that HHP's family released a statement dismissing suggestions that Lerato is the late rapper's widow.

According to the paper, a family spokesperson said that Lerato was never married to the rapper and claimed "she walked out on her own accord last year."

The spokesperson also made claims surrounding the day of HHP's death and the family drama that happened when Lerato allegedly asked for documents pertaining to the musician.

During a memorial service in HHP's honour on Wednesday, Lerato gave powerful speech promising to protect the rapper's legacy.

"I will continue to be strong for you now and protect your legacy like I did when you were alive. There will still be so much said but I will take those lashings with the strength and grace of the warrior queen you chose to share your life with."
