SA celebs have joined the flood of tributes from around the world for Marvel comic book boss Stan Lee, who died on Monday at the age of 95.

Lee had suffered several health challenges over the last few years and will be remembered as the co-creator of some of the world's most popular comic book characters including Spiderman, Wolverine, Iron Man and The Hulk.

His death sent shockwaves across social media and local celebs added their tributes to the star.

Atandwa Kani, who starred in the Marvel film Black Panther, took to Instagram to share his gratitude for Stan's work.

Actor Vuyo Dabula reflected on a childhood filled with characters created by Stan.

Other celebs, including Terry Pheto, Trevor Gumbi and Thembisa Mdoda also paid tribute.

 Fans took to social media to share beautiful Marvel-inspired memes in his honour.
