Felicia Mabuza-Suttle: Local talent seems to be undervalued
Veteran TV personality Felicia Mabuza-Suttle has once again cast the spotlight on the value and treatment of local artists.
This has been an ongoing debate and challenge that artists have faced for several years.
Felicia shared her opinions on the matter after Pearl Thusi expressed how disheartening it was as an artist.
It’s really disheartening that at home that local talent is so undervalued.

There are exceptions but we’re not great at celebrating each other.
The veteran TV personality who is based in the States agreed with Pearl and said that US artists had become a benchmark yet local artists worked with far less resources.
Agree @PearlThusi. Local talent seems to be undervalued in SA compared to other countries. We debated this issue a lot on #FeliciaShow. US music has prevailed as the standard to match. We should applaud local artists who work with far limited resources & provide a unique harmony.

Proud to say that we tried to give local artists exposure on #FeliciaShow. We brought on @LalombaMusic, Judith even sang with #AlJarreau. Also #GloriaBosman @JoyousSA @Sowetogospe, #Umoja & more. Kept legacy of #MiriamMakeba & #HughMasekela alive on the show. We have GRT talent. https://t.co/dpu4CfThYp
