Heavy K is his wife, Ntombi's biggest fan and believes that Mzansi will catch onto her fire very soon.

The musician told TshisaLIVE that its was important for him to be Ntombi's support system and help nurture her singing abilities so that she can reach her full potential.

"I've been working on Ntombi's project. I've actually been featuring her on my music for over two years. We've been doing album songs, hence she didn't really blow up initially because her vibe is different from mine and I don't want people to box her into the Heavy K sound. We want her to have her own identity in music. She has a very soulful and jazz sound."

Heavy said as a person who Ntombi trusts and whose opinion she values, he was available to give her all the guidance she needed but was also careful not to hog all her attention. He said that he wanted her career to be moulded by other people as well who had her best interest at heart.

The Wena hitmaker said he's consulted with people like the late Robbie Malinga to help Ntombi carve out her space in the music industry.

"I am aware that the industry has a lot of challenges. I always tell her that she must be mentally ready for it. When you get into this industry, you tell yourself you won't do these funny things but it takes a lot of discipline for you to remain true to who you are. It is overwhelming when you meet your idols and they introduce you to bad habits."

Ntombi caught Mzansi's attention when she featured on her husband's latest track, Let Them Talk, which also features Nigerian singer Niniola of Maradona fame.

The mother of two told Sowetan in a previous interview that she took tips from her award-winning husband in preparation for her first live performance.

"I put in a lot of practice in it, and fortunately enough for me, I have a partner who is able to give me a lot of valuable advice," she added.
