Depending on what era you were born in, you would have been exposed to different R&B kings, but when Jacquees came out to say that he was the king, the internet lost its chill.

Jacquees later clarified that he meant that he was king of his era but it was too late as he was dragged hard.

The only compromise R&B singers have been willing to make was that perhaps Jacquees could be the 'R&B King' of the 2000.

Even though he was born in 1994, musically he falls in the "skrrr skrrr" generation of R&B which tweeps felt immediately disqualified him from trying to snatch the crown from Chris Brown or Usher.

Both Usher and Chris, in their prime did the most for the genre but other names such as Miguel, Bruno Mars and John Legend popped up.

As far as tweeps are concerned in the late 90s and early 2000s R&B was dominated by Usher and then Chris.

While this isn't set in stone most tweeps agreed that Jacquees was over-reaching. They had the memes!

When tweeps realised that there was no amicable way of ending this "king" debate... they calledon Diddy to do the right thing!

Y'all remember this show? It was called Making The Band and mans sang their hearts out in order to win a spot on a band that Diddy would mentor.

Maybe this is what needs to happen for us to have a winner of the R&B king title!
