Year on year, DJ Black Coffee has become one of SA's biggest musical exports. 

From major gigs to musical features and magazine covers, there's no denying that Black Coffee has had a successful 2018. His fans have followed him and watched him jet across the world to give performances.  

Here are some of our favourite moments from him in 2018.

1. Coachella 

Black Coffee was one of many internationals acts featured in the annual Coachella Festival in the USA in April.

2. Ibiza 

Black Coffee secured a residency in the party capital Ibiza, Spain, in 2017 from July to September. In February 2018 he announced that he had renewed his residency on the island. 

3.  Sonar, Barcelona  

Black Coffee closed the Sónar village stage at the Sónar By Day in Barcelona in June.

4.Esquire cover 

Black Coffee graced the cover of men's fashion magazine Esquire Italia in November, dressed in Alexander McQueen.

5. Chart banger

He teamed up with DJ David Guetta and singer Delilah Montagu to drop a club banger called Drive, which debuted at No 31 on the Billboard's Hot Dance/Electric Songs chart. 

6. Tomorrowland 

Black Coffee jetted off to Belgium in July to play at the annual Tomorrowland festival 
waving the South African flag high.

7. GQ  

Despite his international status, Black Coffee is still a local favourite. He was featured on the cover of GQ SA's October issue in Rich Mnisi.

8. Viva Las Vegas!

Black Coffee got his first Las Vegas residency at luxury resort Wynn. He joins the likes of Diplo and Robbie Williams, who have also had residencies at the venue.

9. Global Citizen

On November 26, Black Coffee  was named the newest addition to the star-studded Global Citizen line-up. The festival included the likes of Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Pharrell Williams and Usher. 

10.  Music is King

Black Coffee gathered some of his local and international friends, including Swizz Beatz, Lady Zamar, Msaki, Nasty C, Ricky Rick, to end the year with the Music is King concert at the TicketPro Dome in Johannesburg on December 15.
