Rapper Emtee had fans worried after he collapsed on stage during a performance in July.

A video of the incident went viral, with many calling on the rapper to seek help.

Emtee spoke about the incident, saying that it was "just a fall". The rapper dismissed any of the rumours that linked his collapse to substance abuse.

After his fall, Emtee mentioned that he had been dealing with the death of his aunt which took a toll on him.

After spending a month away from social media and the spotlight, Emtee returned to the scene saying that he was now "sober from ALL narcotics". He said he was taking time to recover in Bloemfontein.

The rapper says his stage collapse was simply caused by exhaustion.

"I'm doing great. Absolutely fine. I just fell. The security was worried so they took me backstage. The stage was very small and I had to watch my step. It must have been a wire that made me fall because I wouldn't have just fallen out of the blue," he said in an interview with TshisaLive

Following the fall, Emtee decided to turn a new leaf, working hard and trying to be more honest with his music.

"I realised that I have to be responsible because there are a lot of people depending on me. I am a son. I am a father. I am a role model and my music has to reflect that. I want to be more responsible," he said after releasing a song titled Lesson.
