In another heartbreaking reflection of South African reality, tweeps re-lived the story of a now dead Sarah who, together with her children, was shot dead by her husband after keeping quiet about the abuse she was enduring in her marriage.

Sarah decided to stay mum about the multiple abuse ordeals she suffered in her marriage at the hands of her husband. Her family explained that even though they sometimes felt the tension, Sarah always protected her husband who later became her killer.

Sarah's story sparked the gun debate on Twitter as tweeps said having a gun in the house may have lead to the situation.

Her family was shocked when they received news that Sarah’s husband had shot and killed her and their two kids.

Tweeps were horrified when one of Sarah's family members explained how they felt when they heard the news of the shooting while travelling in a taxi.

When Sarah's mother explained how the corpses of her daughter and children were found, the hurt could be felt through the TV screen. She said one of the children were shot in the back as they tried to hide in the closet during their father's shooting spree.

Most viewers also commented on how keeping a gun in the house is a bad idea.

Tweeps couldn't help but express their shock and sadness in memes.
