Year in review: That Uzalo double wedding that had DRAMA galore!

Four years after Generations: The Legacy set a new record for viewership, it's competitor Uzalo has smashed it and took the crown. Here's why Mzansi was hooked.

The SABC confirmed to TshisaLIVE that the show racked in  10,251,231 viewers in September, beating the previous record of just over 10m viewers held by Generations: The Legacy during its relaunch in 2014.

The wedding was one of kind because not only was Njomane marrying Hlengiwe without MaNgcobo's full permission, the two women were like water and oil. 

The chances of a happy ending were really next to zero but somehow, after a rollercoaster ride of note, viewers were happy to have gotten the ticket.

The whole wedding and the scenes leading up to it were lit,  but these two moments in the whole saga that snatched our wigs. To date, we are still bald because...

"Ku shadwa kanjani umakoti engakafiki?" -MaNgcobo

"How is there a wedding when the bride hasn't arrived," asked the gangster wife, Lindiwe.

When Njomane went and calmed down a crazy situation to marry them both!

Plus, he had the sweetest vows for Hlengiwe.
