While rapper Priddy Ugly believes he ain't getting the kind of praise his art warrants, he reckons the credit that's due to him isn't far off.

In an interview with TshisaLIVE the rapper explained that as far as being slept on goes, he couldn't deny that people have been selective with where they praise him but he's not dismayed.

"People don’t realise that when I say I’m an artist it’s in various aspects of art.

"I conceptualise and design all of my artworks and imagery. We are producing and conceptualising all of our own videos. We shooting, editing and curating most of our social media content. We styling ourselves. I wrote all my own music and write for others too, so I’m more than just a rapper which people will catch on to eventually, so I’m not worried about that. Everything Godly Yearns Patience and Time."

Priddy recently left Ambitiouz Entertainment after a brief stay with the label but explained the exit was "clean" and he's now an independent artist.

However, it looks like the freedom has done him, his artistry and his relationship well because he's now had time and space to venture into a music project with his longtime girlfriend Bontle Modiselle. The pair call themselves Rick Jade.

Priddy said he's discovered he has a huge international following and plans to capitalise  on that.

"Through mediums like social media, I’ve discovered that a large portion of my fan base, people who engage with me, go onto my live’s (Insta/Facebook stories) and subscribe to my music aren’t from South Africa. I have fans in Milan, UK, in the Philippines, our neighbouring countries like, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Tanzania & Nigeria. This lets me know that the cross-country African & World Tour is possible for as long as we keep building."
