Nearly eight months after a horror crash in Durban left her fighting for her life, Sbahle Mpisane is on the road to recovery and is now fighting another battle — the one against the bulge.

Although she still looks like a flame, Sbahle told fans on Monday she had gained weight after surgery and was now on a juice diet to try to "lose a few inches".

She explained that her gains were the result of her medication and her not walking in eight months.

"My medication and the fact that I haven't walked for eight months and can't go to gym for a bit has made me gain weight, so I hope this will help me lose a few inches. If I lose weight in four weeks from now, I will share my full recipes and light programs with yáll," she said, in a snap of her holding a glass of green-coloured juice.

She also committed to drinking between four and five litres of water in an effort to get healthier.

Sbahle recently returned to hospital for another procedure and the fitness fundi has spoken often of her desire to get back to gym and into shape.

She's also spoken about the difficulties she's faced on the journey to recovery, telling fans last month that she was taking it step-by-step.

"My slow walk towards my happy ending is not about anyone and has no prince charming. With God on my side, I am becoming my own completion on a path searching for my purpose."
