Criselda Dudumashe on SABC exit: Legends don't say goodbye

After 14 years at SABC radio, Criselda Dudumashe will hang up her headphones this week, and all she is focused on is her "next".

The SAFM presenter confirmed this week that she will be leaving her radio home at the end of the week, when new contracts at the SABC are expected to take effect.

She thanked the SABC and her followers for their support over the years on her radio journey.  

"Thank you South Africa for your continued support as I continue to serve. There's a grand designer behind everything. My life is not a result of random chance, fate, or luck. There is a master plan. God is pulling the strings and I’m in complete surrender."

She said that life was far too short to waste staying in places that don't bring joy and so she was looking forward to her next assignment.

"It’s time for my next. I’m very excited about my next assignment. Legends don’t do goodbyes they do nexts. I’m ready," she added.

Criselda returned to radio early last year after a four-month break.

She was hauled over the coals in September 2017 over comments she made about former deputy minister of higher education‚ Mduduzi Manana, after it emerged he assaulted three women outside a Johannesburg bar.

He was found guilty on three charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Criselda appeared to defend Manana and later apologised for her actions. The SABC launched an investigation and she was taken off air. She later spoke about how she felt betrayed as those close to her lambasted her on social media.
