The internet almost came to a standstill when a fake news site announced that SA rapper Shane Eagle, who has been touring with Dreamville musician Bas, had been signed to J Cole's label. It's not true, at least not yet, but his fans ran with it.

Speculation was rife as more and more snaps of Shane were posted on J Cole's label Dreamville's Instagram page, showing the rapper living his best life with Bas and other J Cole signees.

However, there has been no official word from either Shane, J Cole, Bas, Dreamville or anybody credible saying that the SA rapper has been signed.

All Shane said was he's found family in the crew.

But the possibility of Shane scoring a record deal with J Cole saw the rapper top the Twitter trends list on Monday night as fans appreciated him.

Shane, who has been making major moves on the DL, announced earlier this month that he would be joining J Cole's signee Bas on his international tour for his album Milky Way.

The tour has and is still set to hit major European cities such as Paris, Dublin, Warsaw and Amsterdam among many others.  Shane is performing as a special guest at most of the venues.

Despite the fact that Shane has been compared to J Cole, the rapper still managed to make an impression on Bas, who was in SA for some shows and the rest, as we know it, is history.

His fans couldn't help but share their pride in the Yellow hitmaker.

Even though Shane isn't signed by J Cole (as yet), his fans are rooting for him and think that it's only a matter of time.

Besides, the SA rapper is gaining priceless experiences and an international fanbase that will go a long way in his career.
