#GiyaniLandOfBlood | First-ever Xitsonga telenovela is a hit
While South Africans may have had to watch out for jokes all day on Monday, it was clear that the brilliance of the first ever Xitsonga telenovela, Giyani: Land Of Blood was most definitely not a joke!
The telenovela, which is the brainchild of Tshedza Pictures, made its debut last night and left viewers begging for more. There was no doubt that it was a hit - the show topped the trends list just minutes after it started.
The music, the acting, the scenery, and the storyline were all impressive but more importantly the people, the culture and the language was like a breath of fresh air.
It may have taken 25 years of democracy for this to finally happen but from the reaction last night, it was well worth the wait.
Are you ready for Mzansi’s first ever Xitsonga telenovela? 💃🏽

Fans already have their fave and right up there is legendary singer Yvonne Chaka Chaka, whose acting skills were a pleasant surprise for many.
Plus they were shook by the death of Chauke, who they felt died too soon. They had the memes to match their feels.
