No matter how much your brain exists outside the gutter, the mention of 'dog style' will most often drag your mind right back to the dark side. That was why when Maskandi artist Mthandeni "Igcokama Elisha" announced the phrase as the title of his new album, things descended into chaos.

The maskandi artist had been hyping up his latest project by asking fans what the name should be but when he finally revealed on Friday that it will be titled Dog Style, fans were shooketh.

Some found it funny, others claimed it was something only intellectuals would understand. And then there was the group that said it reminded them of the sex position, which is where the problem began.

A debate of whether dog style and doggy style mean the same thing split Mthandeni's fanbase.

While it raged on for most of the weekend, Mthandeni has been capitalising on his name's popularity to sell his albums.

Taking to Instagram, the artist said the title had nothing to do with the sex position. He admitted that he knew it would get people talking but the meaning behind it was for each individual to interpret themselves.

The social media streets may be divided but from the looks of his real-life situation, people are loving the music.
