SNAPS | Basadi In Music Awards start off on pitch perfect note

The inaugural Basadi In Music Awards (Bima) got applause for serving a show-stopping event. 

The awards, hosted by rappers Anele “Ney the Bae” Zondo and Nomuzi “Moozlie” Mabena, took place on October 15 at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand and celebrated the contribution of women in the music industry, showcasing great performances from renowned artists, including Brenda Mtambo, Makhadzi and others.

The highlight of the evening was the all-women band on the stage.

Not forgetting the theme, “Ball gowns, tiaras and sneakers” for ladies and “Suits and sneakers” for the gents, which had many women saying they were grateful to be comfortable for the entire evening. 

The awards showed the extent to which supporters are willing to go to back the winners, regardless.

The biggest winners of the evening were media personalities Lamiez Holworthy and Lerato Kganyago who walked away with two awards each. 

Lamiez scooped the “DJ of the Year” and “Music TV Presenter of the Year” awards. Though not present at the ceremony, the DJ took to her timeline dedicating accolades to her mother and supporters. 

Lerato received the “Entertainment Radio Presenter of the Year” and was presented with the “Mosadi in Business Achievement Award”, alongside DJ Zinhle and Dineo Ranaka.

She also took to her timeline, thanking her followers for their unwavering support.
