Thembisa Mdoda on 2022 being her 'year of yes' as she makes a comeback
Three-time SAFTA winner Thembisa Mdoda is back in full force in pursuing her destiny after facing a life-threatening experience.
The actress and media personality had gone on a hiatus after battling Covid-19 complications, but says this year has been a testament to her fighting spirit.
“Doing something that you love and having to completely stop was heartbreaking for me. I needed to get my strength and my health back to come back and do the work that I have been destined to do,” she told TshisaLIVE.
She has drawn a lot of strength and lessons from her journey of healing.
“This experience taught me that I am stronger than I thought, how incredibly important family is, and how to be bold and not doubt myself in the work that I do because this is a calling.”
She has had a successful year so far and still has plenty lined up, from producing opportunities for corporates, to MC gigs and TV shows as an actress and presenter.
“One thing that is said about the industry is that it's very fickle, but I've received the utmost support from everybody. There is so much happening. I'm overwhelmed and incredibly blessed. I take everything as it comes day by day. I appreciate each opportunity that I have and just going home to my husband and children.”
Without divulging details, Thembisa says her fans can expect to see her return to the small screen soon.
She's expected to appear on Mzansi Magic's Black Conversations from 20 October, where she says fans will get to see her more opinionated side and will learn a lot more about her.
“I told myself that this year I'm going to say yes to everything that resonates with me, it doesn't matter if I'm afraid of it, if it's taboo or going to get people talking, I don't have those fears any more.”
