Speaking to TshisaLIVE previously about her achievements, Connie she was elated to be recognised globally.
“It means a lot to me as an actress. This is the second overseas award I am getting.”
She’s had many highlights during her career and says she doesn't take them for granted.
“The first time I was on stage was in Greece, in a play titled Shola Shola. That opportunity was magical. I was also cast in a classic American opera and I wasn’t even trained in opera.
“Marvel Studios’ Black Panther is the biggest highlight of my career, if there is anything like that. I am grateful for the chance to be part of something so big and historical.”

Connie Chiume is bursting with pride after flying two of her children to the US to join her on a Hollywood takeover.
The actress, who is set to attend the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever film premiere on Wednesday and be honoured with the Hollywood African Prestigious Award on October 29, has shared a video of their journey.
“God, I am grateful for all these beautiful opportunities, for my kids and for your protection. We made it to Hollywood! It’s beautiful to see your kids so excited about the future!” Connie captioned the post.
