Its been public knowledge that Scandal actress Nomvelo Makhanya is kissing her on-screen character Lindiwe Ngema goodbye and the time for that is fast approaching.
In a statement shared with TshisaLIVE, e.tv confirmed Lindiwe is set to make her last appearance on Thursday.
Nomvelo has been with Scandal for years and her role has grown over the years. Playing Lindiwe, her journey began as a high school student in the Ngema household in Soweto. She made her way through life filled with trials and tribulations where she became owner of a club and married Nhlamulo.
Lindiwe fell pregnant, a dream come true for the beautiful couple. But Lindiwe started feeling ill and found she had a chronic Illness. As her condition worsened, she was forced to choose between the baby or an abortion to ensure her own survival. Lindiwe decided that after all she had gone through she would risk keeping her baby and fight to the end.
In an interview with TshisaLIVE last year, Nomvelo gave herself a pat on the back for how far she's come and beamed at the memory of the nine-year journey of playing the mischievous teen-turned brilliant young adult.
“It's crazy that I literally gave birth to this girl and yet I also grew up with her as well.
“When I look back on some of the first episodes I did, there's been a lot of growth and it's been a great journey.”
