After two chaotic Christmases, the Sello and Twala families are making their comeback to a screen near you in December, and there's a bundle of joy on the way.
It's the traditional gogo vs the glam gogo as matriarchs Valencia (Charmaine Mtinta) and Dineo (Clementine Mosimane) battle it out for the title of the century: South Africa’s favourite nkhono.
In How To Ruin Christmas: The Baby Shower the stage is set for yet another Twala-Sello family feud.
The two families "unite" to host a baby shower to welcome their bundle of joy for first-time parents Beauty (Thando Thabethe) and Sbu Twala (Sandile Mahlangu), resulting in a chaotic Christmas. Zama’s (Denise Zimba-Schlitig) sudden arrival serves to bring more mayhem.
This is the first instalment without the late Busisiwe Lurayi (who played Tumi) after she died earlier this year.
Actress Rami Chuene, who starred alongside Lurayi on two instalments of Netflix’s How To Ruin Christmas, was surrounded by the cast, who could not hold back tears when Rami described how Busisiwe made them feel.
She said they were shattered by her sudden passing as the star always went out of her way to make them feel close.
“We are the cast of How to Ruin Christmas, and there so many things we could say. We don’t understand it, we can’t comprehend it, we can’t internalise it. We are shattered, our hearts are broken, and anything and everything Busi was and is, we’ve all heard it. She made us all feel special.”
The sequel premieres on Netflix on December 9 2022
