When season three of The Wife kicked off, viewers were confident the telenovela would make sense (to them), especially after a production break and hopefully going back to the drawing board after previous seasons left much to be desired for enthusiasts of the book series.
Season three has left its viewers with mixed emotions and again storylines being the biggest issues.
Here are moments that made fans of the show break a sweat.
Exits of leads Abdul Khoza and Zikhona Sodlaka
This is on-screen couple were a fave among fans. Season three kicked off with the death of Mqoba (Abdul Khoza), and a few episodes later Mandisa (Zikhona Sodlaka) also made her exit. The pair we lauded as the best combo that has ever come out of the show, and the ease with which Abdul and Zikhona carried their roles, had fans hooked on their non-conventional relationship and it broke their hearts when they left the telenovela.

Diamond hustling scam
It seems the writers have gone further away from what fans of the show said they would gravitate towards, which are the events in Dudu Busani-Dube's books.
Tweeps were left confused to see the remaining Zulu brothers drift deeper into a life of crime, when in the book they cleaned up their act and became businessmen who owned trucks.
Xoli and Sambulo a match made in sniperville
Fans have expressed how this love story is exactly what they ordered for the show. The pair Xoli (Lungelo Mpangase) and Sambulo (Eric Ndlovu) have had wild times shooting at people together and having crazy, wild sex, something fans didn't see coming from the rather stoic Sambulo.
Some are waiting for everything to come crumbling down because they suspect khona into e off with u'girl .
Battle for succession to the Montsho throne (sex tape)
The Montsho sisters' relationship should be that of siblings who are as thick as thieves on paper. However, sibling rivalry is brewing behind the scenes because of succession to the throne.
Tshidi (Motsoaledi Setumo) is doing everything in her power to jeorpadise Naledi (Gaisang Noge), which has also left viewers with mixed emotions.
