Lady Du threw back to the time she shook things up with some of the hottest young musos in the country.

Taking to her Instagram timeline she shared an old picture of a group of musicians she used to record with, including late amapiano musician Mpura.

Mpura, Killer Kau and four other artists died in 2021 while driving on the N4 in Marikana on their way to perform in Rustenburg.

“A time in my life I’ll never forget! People I’ll never forget, my brothers Busta 929, Reece Madlisa, De Real Zuma and Mpura will always have a safe space in my heart for what they did for me. Ngiwakhumbula amasessions wethu."

At the beginning of last year Mr JazziQ reflected on his friendship with Mpura, Killer Kau and DJ Papers.

“These past few years I’ve lost so many people close to me and it’s left a very deep place in my heart,” he wrote.

“I could possibly write a book about you (Killer Kau) as a free spirited soul. Your warm heart and coal-burnt voice. The experience I’ve had with you will forever be cherished. I love you, ntwana yam.

“With you (Mpura) I didn’t lose a friend or an acquaintance but someone who became a brother. I’m still saying it hurts. I miss you.”
