Musician Tipcee has denied reports she is broke and has left DJ Tira's record label Afrotainment.

This comes after a source close to the gqom sensation told ZiMoja Tipcee left last year and has been managing herself.

“Tipcee left because she wasn’t feeling appreciated, and she wanted to teach them a lesson. She felt she was invisible and she could do it on her own, forgetting that the music industry is not easy,” the friend told ZiMoja.

“It’s very difficult to get bookings and worse if you are not in Tira’s corner,” revealed the close friend.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Tipcee dismissed the rumour as untrue, saying it was her "friend" who started the rumour.

“No it's not true, and I'm dropping a single soon, and then an EP. The rumours have been trending since yesterday. There was this one friend of mine who was stirring up trouble.

“I've been with Afrotainment for five years, even on Instagram the new song is there. I'm all right, I'm alive. I'm at Westville in my home. Everything was fine until this thing yesterday," she said.

In 2017 Tipcee admitted she was often compared to other women on DJ Tira's label.

“People always compare me to them. They think I don't like Babes. Everyone thinks  she is my competition or that I don't like her. She is my girl, people misunderstand us. They compare us and it's frustrating because I am not in any competition. Even Zodwa Wabantu is my girl. We are family and I have no problems with either of them.”
